Buckhead Coalition Issues Statement on New Georgia State Patrol Post Opening in Buckhead

STATEMENT

For immediate release: April 12, 2025

ATLANTA, GA – Today, the Buckhead Coalition issued the following statement regarding the new Georgia State Patrol Post opening:

The Buckhead Coalition applauds the official opening of a new Georgia State Patrol (GSP) post located at the Governor’s Mansion. This is a milestone that marks another step forward in our shared commitment to a safe and thriving Buckhead.

The 1,750-square-foot facility will serve as a base for approximately 35 Troopers, including 13 directly assigned to the Buckhead area. This increased presence enhances law enforcement accessibility and reinforces 24/7 protection for our community and surrounding neighborhoods.

Governor Brian Kemp, First Lady Marty Kemp, Speaker Jon Burns, Mayor Andre Dickens, and other state and local leaders gathered to commemorate this important investment, made possible by $1.3 million in state funding, into the safety and security of Atlanta’s communities.

At the Buckhead Coalition, public safety is a top priority. We believe a vibrant and inclusive Buckhead begins with community partnerships, coordinated leadership, and tangible investments, just like this new GSP post. We’re proud to support efforts that strengthen trust, collaboration, and results between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

This is good news for Buckhead and for Atlanta as one safe city.
