Thomas Forsberg

Thomas Forsberg has been a Georgia banker for 25 years starting in corporate banking with SunTrust Bank in Atlanta and developing as a commercial banking leader across the state of Georgia. In 2022, Thomas launched the Atlanta market for First Carolina Bank, a premier commercial and private banking institution with presence in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Georgia. Thomas serves as Market President for Georgia and South Carolina leading teams in the three markets of Atlanta, the Upstate SC, and the Midlands SC.

Thomas is a native of Atlanta and a 3rd generation Atlanta banker. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business and later returned to the Terry College of Business for his MBA. Thomas was recognized as The University of Georgia Alumni Association’s 40 Under 40 and served as Chapter President of University of Georgia Alumni Association.

Thomas is active in the Georgia Bankers Association and a member of Leadership GBA Board of Directors. He was elected to Atlanta Public School’s strategic planning GO Team. Thomas previously served as a board member for Horizons Atlanta and during time in Columbus, GA, he served the boards of the Columbus Regional Airport Commission, the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, and the Historic Columbus Foundation.

Thomas is married to Ansley, a Buckhead business owner, and they have three children. The Forsberg family lives in Buckhead and are active members of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church
