Michael Hertz

Michael Hertz is the President and a member of the Board of Directors at United Distributors, Inc., a multi-generational family business and the largest beverage alcohol distributor in Georgia and Alabama. United also operates a beverage alcohol brokerage business in Mississippi. Michael started at United in 2009, progressing through increasing positions of leadership, including as Executive Vice President in 2017 and COO in 2020, resulting in his appointment as President in 2024.

A native Atlantan, Michael graduated from The Westminster Schools in 2001 and received a business degree from the Freeman School of Business at Tulane University in 2005. Prior to joining United Distributors, Michael started his professional career as an analyst at Atlantic Trust, a Private Wealth Management firm in Atlanta.

Michael currently serves on the Boards of the Grady Memorial Hospital Corporation, the Atlanta Speech School and The Temple. Previously, he served on the Boards of Camp Twin Lakes and Our House, including serving as Board Chair of Our House in 2019-20. Additionally, Michael is a member of YPO and serves on the Boards of the American Jewish Committee of Atlanta and the Atlanta Metro Chamber.

Michael is also deeply involved within United’s industry. He serves on the Board of Directors at the Georgia Beer Wholesalers Association, where he has been Board President twice. In 2022, he joined the Board of Directors at the Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America (WSWA), currently serving as its Vice Chairman. He also chaired WSWA’s Council for Leadership Development in 2018.

Michael and his wife Emily live in Atlanta with their daughter, two sons and two dogs.
