Throughout his career, Ted Turner has won recognition for his entrepreneurial acumen; sharp business skills; a vision that transformed television; leadership qualities that won sports championships; and his unprecedented philanthropy. Turner is founder and chairman of the United Nations Foundation, promoting global health and peace; founder and co-chairman of the Nuclear Threat Initiative, reducing global threats from nuclear, biological and chemical weapons; founder and chairman of the Turner Foundation, supporting efforts to protect and restore our Earth’s natural systems; co-founder of the Captain Planet Foundation, encouraging innovative programs that empower youth to solve environmental issues in their own communities; and founder and chairman of the Turner Endangered Species Fund, dedicated to conserving biological diversity by ensuring the persistence of imperiled species and their habitats. In addition, Turner is chairman of Turner Enterprises Inc., a private company, which manages his business interests, land holdings and investments.

As chairman and founder of Turner Renewable Energy, Turner believes that investing in renewable energy is not only a prudent financial decision, but also a crucial step toward ensuring our planet’s future health. He is also chairman and co-founder of Ted’s Montana Grill, with 39 restaurants nationwide; and founder of Ted Turner Reserves, a groundbreaking initiative inviting the public to visit and enjoy four unique, Turner-owned locales in the state of New Mexico.

Turner is the recipient of numerous honorary degrees, industry awards and civic honors, including being named TIME Magazine’s Man of the Year, Broadcasting and Cable’s Man of the Century and one of TIME 100 World’s Most Influential People.
