John C. Hamilton

John directs the Atlanta office for the Mid -Atlantic region of Marsh McLennan Agency and works as the primary client executive for a select group of clients.

John graduated from the UNC Chapel Hill with a B.S. in Business where he was a Morehead Scholar. He began his career in 1984 at Hamilton Dorsey Alston Company and became chairman and CEO in 1995. When the company merged with Wachovia Insurance Services (WIS), John served as managing director and chairman of WIS, Georgia. In July 2008, he assumed his present duties with Marsh McLennan Agency (Rutherfoord at the time).

In addition to his role as the Chair of our Public Safety Committee, John also serves on the Boards of the Atlanta Mission, the Atlanta Youth Academies Foundation, and a nonprofit affordable housing company. He was recognized by the Atlanta Business Chronicle as a Leader in Corporate Citizenship in 2020.
